This morning, Henry Huang and Bettina LaGreca were announced as the valedictorian and salutatorian of the Tappan Zee High School Class of 2022!
“Henry and Bettina are both really impressive students and human beings,” said Principal Rudy Arietta. “They have added so much to the life of our high school, in and out of the classroom. We’re excited to see what they accomplish in the future.”
Huang is Class President, a 2022 National Merit Scholarship Finalist, NYSSMA All-State Musician (violin) and the New York State Scholar-Athlete Swimmer of the Year. He has competed on the TZ Boys Varsity Swim team since the seventh grade and is a member of the TZ Boys Tennis Team. Huang intends to major in computer science in college and is a software lead for SO BOTZ, the high school’s FIRST Robotics Competition team, and is involved with a number of extracurriculars.
LaGreca is Class Treasurer, a Peer Leader and a member of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica-Capítulo Tito Puente, the high school’s National Spanish Honor Society chapter, and TZ United. She plans to study business in college and is interning with the United Way of Rockland for her Senior Seminar project.
The valedictorian and salutatorian are eligible for scholarships through the Lower Hudson Council of School Superintendents and will deliver addresses at their commencement ceremony.
