The Tappan Zee High School Multicultural Club will be hosting their annual International Show and Dinner this Friday–and all are welcome! The event kicks off at 5PM in the TZHS cafeteria featuring international foods donated by local restaurants and families, followed by a fashion show and a variety of performances.

Multicultural Club President Maya N., a senior, is eager to host the collaborative event alongside her fellow officers. “We have been talking with our classmates and club members to spread the word about the event and to recruit students who want to perform, make food, or collect food donations from local restaurants. It’s been great to see how many people want to participate,” she said.

The Multicultural Club, advised by TZHS Science teacher Michael Francesco, celebrates the cultural diversity of the high school community. Each meeting highlights a different nation or region of members’ heritage and provides students with opportunities to learn more about other cultures and share their own. “It’s so interesting to learn more in-depth about countries that aren’t often as well-known,” explained Maya.

Vice President Zyna M., a junior, added, “It’s a safe space to embrace your cultures and connect with people. It’s a great way to make friends…and we get to eat really good food!”

Tickets for the International Show and Dinner will be sold at the door. The suggested donation is $8 per person, $5 for senior citizens.
