Cottage Lane Elementary School students in Katie Kopac, Brenda Sullivan and Jacob Tanenbaum’s class are in their peregrine falcon naming era.
After learning about the bird of prey, they proposed a name for one of four chicks that recently hatched in the nest box at the top of a tower on the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. Their entry has made it to the final round of a naming contest co-sponsored by the New York State Thruway Authority and Veolia.
